Books

When we were being assessed as prospective adopters, we were told to read as much as possible. It was good advice, but we weren’t given much guidance. It turned out that the sterile textbooks they recommended were (a) very dull reading material (b) a bit pricey and (c) not especially great preparation for suddenly having two small people in the house.

This reading list is different. I have only recommended books that I have enjoyed reading, found helpful, and are worth the money to buy and keep as you go along (rather than borrowing from the library, which is what we did as much as possible, because who has the cash to buy them all in one go?).
